Welcome to the OUAN Wiki

Welcome to the OUAN Wiki

The OUAN Site Wiki is a labor of love created by the current members of OUAN for the future members of OUAN. Our goal is to make the canon history of our site as easy to peruse and learn as possible for those of you who wish to join our family. Within you can find everything from species to characters to members to canon tales and so much more.

WE ARE IN BETA TESTING RIGHT NOW. ALTHOUGH 99% OF THE WIKI IS DONE, WE ARE STILL IN THE PROCESS OF FACT CHECKING, PROOFREADING, AND COMPLETING A FEW EXTRA PAGES AS WE REALIZE THAT WE NEED TO MAKE THEM. Please excuse our mess. If you find empty pages, we are working on filling them post haste. If you find conflicting information, we are working on making our facts align across pages and we would be happy to tell you which piece of conflicting information is correct. We apologize for any confusion, with luck Beta Testing will be over the and the Wiki will be 100% done shortly.

THANK YOU!

 The Virginia Company

The Virginia Company

A Mercenary Organization

Although they keep their headquarters in the Black Sands, they can be found all over Ga'leah where the wealthy can afford to employ them.
The Virginia Company is a mercenary organization once headquartered in the Black Sands. They are employed by the wealthy of Ga'leah to do the unsavory tasks that cannot be traced back to them. They may assassinate individuals, steal, guard individuals or even invade tracts of land all in the name of their benefactors.

Most of those individuals still present in the Black Sands at the time of the Solharan Blight were killed. Only those chapters that were deployed for various tasks, such as retrieving the crystal of Atlantis or working for Lord John of Calladahn survived.

Affiliation

The Virginia Company is unaffiliated with any government or leader. They exist in the Black Sands because of its relative isolation from the rest of Ga'leah and pay a hefty sum to people within the Solharan government to remain independent of the sultanate.

History

The Virginia Company is one of the oldest and most far reaching mercenary groups in Ga'leah. It is unknown exactly when it began and who formed it. For a long time those within the Virginia Company did not use their proper names and met only in the Black Sands a single day each month to conduct business. As their numbers and power grew, they became much bolder about how they conducted their business. Now, they use their proper names and do not worry about identification.

Unlike most other mercenary organizations, they will audition anyone into their company regardless of age, gender, or kingdom of origin. Those who prove that they have a worthwhile skill and have a natural aptitude for fighting are admitted and trained. It is also possible for anyone within the Virginia Company to earn a position of power. The more you fight and the more victorious you are, the greater the chance that you will one day lead your own chapter of the company. Again, gender, age, and kingdom of origin hold no importance when it comes to promoting people within the Virginia Company.

A member of the company's payment depends upon their place within the company and the length of their employment.

Current Leader

The last leader of the Virginia Company died in the Solharan Blight attempting to escape the Black Sands. As is customary, a meeting of the Virginia Company will be held in the future and potential candidates for leadership will fight one another with the winner of the bouts declared the de facto leader of the group.
